How It Works

Why Bicycle Power?

Imagine a concert or film fest powered completely by bicycle. Imagine you, the audience, physically powering the event by pedaling a bike. Imagine going to a show where you are as much of a part of the action as the artists themselves.

The Pedal Power Project is a way to change our mindset about the way we use electricity. We live on an island in Hawaii, and here more than anywhere else we need to think about sustainability on a daily basis.

Human powered energy is a long forgotten but very reliable source of energy. By having the audience pedal the bikes and physically power the event, whether it’s a music concert or film festival, they are contributing in a way that no other event can offer.

The answer to our energy needs is not finding alternatives but instead cutting down on our consumption and realizing how little we truly need.
